In “Wallpaper (3/3/1991)” Mag-lites are used in the gallery to construct constellations and spotlight a drawing made from the bisque fired porcelain casts of police nightsticks. This endeavor recontextualizes the Mag-lite from weapon to beacon; the nightstick from weapon to drawing tool, transforming these objects authoritative power from corporal to cultural.
